The Seeker of Shards

Day_after_Oslo_bombing-6

Three edged sharp, the shard is almost hidden in the shadows.

Just one piece of many, the Seeker carefully places it with the others.

All shapes and sizes, the fragments seem to have no rhyme or reason, yet the Seeker knows what the Father can do with broken pieces...

Small slivers caused by

promises not kept...
harsh words...
and disappointments...

Larger pieces with sharp edges that cut deeply brought on by

broken homes...
diseased bodies...
wayward children...
and questions not answered in the here and now...

Why, God?
Nothing makes sense...
What did I do?
What didn’t I do?
Are You even there?
Do You really care?

And the shards shatter wild with hope falling to the ground and

Immediately,

the scarred hands of the Seeker gather them tightly and His blood covers all...

The Seeker looks at the newest shard...the one created at a hospital bedside...from a mother’s heart bleeding out every ounce of love she had in the hopes that gushing fountain would heal her boy until it just pumped dry and brittle and was completely broken...

The world is full of broken heart shards...

This very second, someone’s heart is coming apart...

In this imperfect world that offers no hope...

hope is offered by perfect love...

It is our choice whether to accept it or not...

Shepherd, Seeker, Redeemer

The Seeker of the Shards gathers every single piece of brokenness and lays them before His Father...

And the Father, with His bottled tears and numbered hairs, takes the countless pieces of the shattered heart and begins to smooth the sharp edges...

Healing begins with the Heart Maker

Gaps between the cracks are filled with His glorious grace that is sufficient to hold the pieces together until the final step of restoration when our eyes see His face and our heart is complete...

What was once in pieces, will be restored.

I am sick at heart.
How long, O Lord, until you restore me?

The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

all so true but hard to understand when one is in the mist of darkness.

Absolutely beautiful - painfully, but wonderfully poignant. Yes, I have also tucked myself very close to the Seeker of Shards - because He is truly the Shepherd of the Shards. The One who comforts the broken, binds the wounded, and loves (oh so loves) those who bleed on the inside.

GOD BLESS!

I am eternally grateful that the Father sent Jesus to mend broken hearts and bind painful wounds. Where would we go except to Jesus? He is the One who makes life livable and joy attainable even in our deepest sorrows.
Hope you and yours are resting in His care.

Awesome! So moving as always Karen ...

So grateful for the Seeker of the Shards and that you capture the broken hearts of the many in need of His Comfort and mending!

You stay away, hiding and compiling these treasures in your own heart and mind, and if only you had more time, you'd compose more of these riches to share and bless us with ... out of the deep kept pain and trials, you reach out to others. You have such a sensitivity and giving to try and make others not hurt as much in their shards... [now, you're going to laugh at me but I had to go and look up this word although I had a brief concept of what it may be from your context and image but I had to know exactly] :0) and I'm not sure you have a copy of the book you sent me from Sheila Walsh but it fits so well with "God loves Broken People"... yet you have gone a step beyond to mend the brokenness. I pray your family and loved ones find comfort in your beautifully written words as Our Comforter embraces each of you and covers us all with His love, His precious blood and His aMazing Grace... you are in my prayers, my heart and my thoughts daily ...though I read this masterpiece yesterday when my heart was drawn to the sadness in the birthday of my friend who took his life, this ministered greatly to me and I thank you and God!

Love and blessings always,
Peggy
