I love the little things...you know, the little things in life that make people feel loved and appreciated...like a hug, a phone call, a card, a note in a lunchbox, a message on a mirror, or a whispered "I love you".
These little things are not...
expensive...
time consuming...or earth shattering...
comfort...
strength...and peace...
They may even change someone's life...you just never know how God's plans work sometimes other than that they work for our GOOD!!
One day a few weeks ago, I was having a time, as the saying goes. Well laid plans did not happen, disappointments did, and I was having a mild pity party.
After a trip to the mailbox, I sat in my office chair and started sorting through bills and circulars. At the bottom of the stack was a little envelope addressed to me with a return address from one of my dear blogging sisters.
I cried/wept/sobbed.
And that was before I even opened it!
I knew when I slid my finger under the flap, pulled the card out, and read the note inside, the Lord would speak through this lady's script. She didn't write much inside, just a little, but it was what I needed at that moment.
She also gave me a scripture reference to look up.
When I read these words, I cried/wept/sobbed again and thanked the Lord for bringing this dear sister into my life. After immediately sending her a thank you email, she responded and said she was surprised I had received the card so soon, because it usually took several days for mail to reach here.
I was not surprised, but thankful for this little thing.
But there is more...
After drying my eyes and straightening my back, I wrote the scripture on a little note card and placed it in my pocket so I could refer back to it throughout what would become a very long day. Unbeknown to me at the time, my God had even greater plans for that little note card. This wasn't a "one shot" little blessing, but a "pass it around" BIG blessing.
Enter a distraught soul...crying in despair...hungry for just the right words at that exact moment...and the card was in my pocket...such a little thing...but Someone said to share that card and the right words came at the right time again...
Such a little thing...that meant so much!

This was so touching to read-thank you for sharing it. Though it might have appeared so small I know many will feel the Lord's comfort through your post.

I just wrote this on another blog, but I will say it again. I LOVE it when we get to see God working in our daily life. The fact that he participates in our mundane, day to day, is just breath taking, and awe inspiring.
Thanks for sharing.
Praise God!!! He is so good!!! His mercy is everlasting!
Karen, how he loves you! And how He loves us all!
Thank you for sharing this precious testimony.
In Christ's Love,
Andrea
GOD's Timing is Perfect. Our GOD is a GOD of order and HE is always on time. Amazing how HE works! Amazing how HE uses people mightily!
I agree about the little things. I really am such a lover of the little things. No material things can buy the happiness I get when I see less words with anointing and love from GOD through HIS people. And you know what? Thank you so much for your "prayer" comments. They have helped a lot. Knowing that I have loyal friends like you in this blog world really makes me feel special and loved.
You are very much loved and appreciated by me. I'm glad you are my friend. You have a beautiful soul. Hope all is well with you.
GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY! P.U.S.H.
Karen...That post is a double portion blessing.
I think when we ask God what we might do for HIM we get caught up in thinking He may ask something big of us...something that may require MUCH...and sometimes He does..but sometimes, His requirements are so small they may be overlooked...we must keep our ears tuned to HIS heart and what He wants from us...because you see...
HE sees the needs of ALL HIS children.
I love you dearly girl!
Great post!
When I had an outpatient procedure recently, a friend stopped by with flowers from her garden. So simple...but I thought about it all day!
