The Proverbial Sunrise – God’s Unchanging Hand

Amanda at The Proverbial Sunrise has been reminding us this month about the steadfastness of the Lord. An old hymn came to mind this week as I was contemplating what to share.

God's Unchanging Hand

Time is filled with swift transition,

Naught of earth unmoved can stand,

Build your hopes on things eternal,

Hold to God's unchanging hand.

Hold to God's unchanging hand,

Hold to God's unchanging hand;

Build your hopes on things eternal,

Hold to God's unchanging hand.

Trust in Him who will not leave you,

Whatsoever years may bring,

If by earthly friends forsaken

Still more closely to Him cling.

Covet not this world's vain riches

That so rapidly decay,

Seek to gain the heavenly treasures,

They will never pass away.

When your journey is completed,

If to God you have been true,

Fair and bright the home in glory

Your enraptured soul will view.

You have a mighty arm; strong is Your hand, Your right hand is soaring high.

Psalm 89:13 AMP

I love the first stanza-it draws a beautiful picture. i love the picture you have with this song. Thank you for the days you pop over to just say "Hi". I appreciate you! I'll be posting August's theme soon.

That is such good advice. --a good reminder for me. That advice could take a person down a rough road in a smooth way.

"Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God's unchanging hand...." I was singing that---I needed to hear that today!

I have learned---you'd think I would know by now...that I NEED to feed CONTINUALLY on things of the Spirit...and not of the world! Case in point: I was listening to a book on tape (not "wrong" necessarily, but at the stage of my hormonal swing...not what the soul needed) and just had the most depressive week! BUT this week, while I am typing at work, I decided I would listen to a message by Priscilla Shirer....the difference in the way I FEEL is AMAZING!!!!

When I am getting ready for work in the mornings, I listen to one particular CD by Hillsongs---and it has some great songs, but there is one that I listen to over and over---replaying it continually---
"My Hope Is In The LORD"!!!

I needed this today...you are a blessing --over and abundantly to me Karen!

God's unchanging hand will guide us if we will hold on to it. Knowing his constantness will enable us to trust Him to do so! Great post Karen!

Beautiful old song with such meaning! I well remember hearing choirs sing it when I was a child.

Received your email. Thank you for your prayers, again!

And many blessings to you, dear, sweet friend.
