When Amanda first listed the August theme of "HOPE" for The Proverbial Sunrise, this old song immediately came to mind....
"My Hope is Built on Nothing Less"
by Edward MoteMy hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.His oath, His covenant, and blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When every earthly prop gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne!
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

Oh I love that old song! Christ is the reason we can have hope. He is the reason we can sing. He is the reason, we have life. Thank you for that great reminder today!
Rejoicing in the hope we have in Him! Thank you sweet one for splashing me today in God's goodness on my blog. May the Lord use both of us, to spread His message in cyber land.
Blessings,
Sarah Dawn
Love this song. What a great post for the remembrance of our Hope!
This brought back memories of the many Sundays that we would sing this in our little congregation when I was a child. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. Yes it is so true. Thank you, Karen:)
I love that song.
Blessings Karen...Thank you for starting out this August month of HOPE with the classic hymn that declares the essence of our faith:
OUR HOPE IS BUILT on nothing less than Jesus blood & righteousness!
Christ is the Solid Rock & this was simple beautiful & foundational to
build our HOPE! Thanks for sharing!
Though I am visiting at sunset & not sunrise, my hope is in tomorrow & seeing Jesus as that trumpet sounds! It's still a great Proverbial Sunrise!
That's one of my favorite hymns. What a great song to have in my head before heading to bed.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's my first time participating in this meme.
One of my childhood favorites and still is.
Love ya.
I love this song! Especially this version of it! Thanks for sharing!
