Rose of Bethlehem – TSMSS

Amidst the poinsettias, the mistletoe, the holly and the ivy, and the Christmas cactus, remember the most beautiful flower...

the Rose of Bethlehem

rose of bethlehem

There's a Rose in Bethlehem
With a beauty quite divine
Perfect in this world of sin
On this silent holy night

There's a fragrance much like hope
That it sends upon the wind
Reaching out to every soul
From a lowly manger's crib

Oh, Rose of Bethlehem
How lovely, pure, and sweet
Born to glorify the Father
Born to wear the thorns for me

There's a Rose in Bethlehem
Colored red like mercy's blood
Tis the flower of our faith
Tis the blossom of God's love

Though its bloom is fresh with youth
Surely what will be He knows
For a tear of morning dew
Is rolling down the Rose

Oh, Rose of Bethlehem
How lovely, pure, and sweet
Born to glorify the Father
Born to wear the thorns for me

There's a Rose in Bethlehem
With a beauty quite divine
Perfect in this world of sin
On this silent holy night

Oh, Rose of Bethlehem
How lovely, pure, and sweet
Born to glorify the Father
Born to wear the thorns for me

Blessings Karen...How beautiful the ROSE amidst the thorns...certainly speaks to my heart! I love Selah!

Is this on there new CD? I had never heard it but so thankful that I've come out of my "cocoon" today to hear the various messages in each TSMSS song, as if Jesus is trying to touch me and heal me, removing me from the pain & sorrow of this tragic week! (ohh, that I could move ahead or back to take this away & prevent what happened).

So beautiful this Divine Rose of Bethlehem. Though I love each line, these stand out today:

"There's a fragrance much like hope
That it sends upon the wind
Reaching out to every soul
From a lowly manger's crib"

"Tis the flower of our faith
Tis the blossom of God's love "

So thankful He KNOWS & CAME, born to glorify Our Father, born to wear the thorns for me...wow...so awesome & amazing is His love!

Thanks Karen! Thanks for your prayer, comment, & email! Love you!
Peggy

I just heard this song for the first time on the radio the other day...its beautiful and I'm so happy to hear it again. I like the way Selah sings anything, but especially this song at this time of year. Being a rose lover, hearing that He is our Rose of Bethlehem brings the thoughts of a beautiful fragrance...He is that, and more...He is our everything!

Thanks for sharing...its just beautiful.

God bless,
Mary
