What Was That?

j0422299

It’s late...

**Yawn**

Very late...

You know you should be in bed, or getting stuff ready for the morning rush, or finishing what you did not get done TODAY...

But you sit...

Eyes on the screen...

Finger on the mouse...

Just a few more sites...

Might read something interesting on that blog...

She posts everyday and it’s been a few days since you last checked it out...

And then...

You read it...from the first line/2nd paragraph/closing prayer/...you hold your breath...

My sweet Jesus...she KNOWS...

Eyes blur as tears fill each corner and threaten to spill on to the keyboard...

Thank you, Lord...

What was that exactly?

You were just blessed...

With a callback...

You are at work, looking at spreadsheets on your computer...your eyes start to blur and cross...you massage your eyelids...stretch your arms...and click on the Firefox/IE/whatever tab and check the first few status updates on Facebook...

Usual stuff...some new comments...

And then you see...

The scripture your friend just posted...you gasp as your heart is pierced by an arrow of love shot from heaven itself...

You’ve just had a callback...

Several weeks ago, I read a wonderful devotional in Streams in the Desert pertaining to Luke 21:13...

It shall turn to you for a
testimony.

You can read the whole devotional here...or to just read the poem “Call Back”, visit Bethany here...please read her thoughts and reflections on “calling back”...they will bless your heart...

I am convinced that...

every word we feel inspired to share,

every battle we go through,

every victory the Lord gives us,

every embrace from our Saviour,

every whispered, "I'm here, everything will be all right",

and every scripture that is impressed on our hearts,

is a callback to someone else that needs it...

We may never know...who NEEDS TO KNOW...what we know God can do...

Sure, God can chose someone else to carry His word if we hesitate, instead of perpetrate the work He has given us to do...

But someone, somewhere, is waiting for your callback...don’t keep them waiting...

It’s later than you think....

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of sympathy (pity and mercy) and the God [Who is the Source] of every comfort (consolation and encouragement),
Who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every trouble (calamity and affliction), so that we may also be able to comfort (console and encourage) those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort (consolation and encouragement) with which we ourselves are comforted (consoled and encouraged) by God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 AMP

AWESOME...CALLBACK!!!

Sweet blessings Karen...what a wonderful, beautiful, insightful
late night thought or any time inspiration. I love Streams in the Desert!!!

I think you know this fits as a second answer from God regarding that extra...stuff...I was carrying!

You are such a comfort and light to the weary, the worn, the battle fatigued, the burned out, but even those who are triumphant...you shine His glory! That's all that matters. That's what counts!

Thanks for His sweet whispers shared from your heart!!!(and Bethany's too)(Going to check it out!) Thoughts and reflections on being called back ... inspires me to keep on keepin'it on! Press on!

Hugs and may you be blessed as you bless me!

Wow! What a great word to describe that kind of answer to my heart. It happens often as I surf through the lives of people and listen to their hearts and God speaking to me through them.

When I'm reading blogs, I always read yours last, because I know it will touch my heart, and I don't want to rush through that moment...and on to another blog. I just let your thoughts linger at the end.

Thank you for sharing your life, your favorite scriptures, precious songs.

May God bless you in this new year of 2010!

I loved the closing line- "It is later then you think."
I tend to forget that sometimes. Put it off sometimes.
Thanks for the kick in the pants!
Every day, you are a blessing. Thanks Karen.

Karen,
I love Streams in the Desert! You have blessed me with this Callback post, so here I am late at night looking at blogs
The Lord has brought two scriptures to me lately 3John 2,3,4 and Isaiah 43:18-19 "makes rivers in the desert."
