Afraid of the Light

We can forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real
tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.
-- Plato

After receiving this quote in an email last week, it has stayed in my mind for days...and all I could think about was...

This is why Jesus had to die...

Because men are afraid of the

Light...

man in dark

In the darkness...

things are hidden...

there is no right or wrong...

invisibility prevails...

In the light...

all things are known...

right and wrong are absolutes...

everything is seen...wrinkles and all...

Darkness hides...

Bitterness...hatred...and chaos...

Light brings forth...

Joy...love...and perfect peace...

Jesus is the Light

And the father of lies tries to convince mankind

that the Light is unnecessary

and a hindrance to living...

But

We know that the Light

brings life everlasting,

hope eternal,

and joy unspeakable...

So what are you waiting for?

Run to the Light...

light

When our children are fearful of the dark, we hold them in our arms, wipe their sweet tears, and assure them they are safe with us...no harm will come to them because we will watch over them...protect them...and love them...

Are you still wandering in the dark?

My God has strong arms to protect...

gentle hands to wipe tears...

and

His Son has already defeated the enemy...

so

Run to the Light...

Love is there waiting...

Came into the light September 10 1977.. and have tried to walk there every day....... HE sheds that same light in my heart and shows me when the darkness tries to hide....... HE is light and in HIM is no darkness....

That was a beautiful reminder about God being our light. It will give me strength tomorrow as I hope to share with students in a public school classroom the meaning of Easter.

This is so good Karen! I was just teaching on Ephesians 5:8-14 last night about being Children of the Light and living as so. The Light certainly does reveal the Truth!!! Whoo Hoo!
