Friday – From the Heart

joseph

From the album:
"From the Heart" by Joseph Lorren

This drawing was done earlier this month by my 15 year old nephew, Joseph. Another of his drawings was shared here for Word Filled Wednesday.

I think this picture tells the story of Good Friday

better than I could.

Joseph has a testimony to go with this drawing so that is what I will share today...

I have a personal testimony with this. I haven't been able to draw for the last 2 weeks and I felt horrible and heartbroken. I actually thought I wasn't going to be able to make it through. But with the help of others and prayer, I somehow managed to make it through. Someone told me to just put a pencil to a sheet of paper, and pray, even write down my prayer. I prayed, and my hand just started moving along the paper. I had absolutely no idea what I was drawing, until I was probably about half-way through it. I thank God for giving me back my ability to draw.

No matter how bad the pain is, no matter how sharp the thorns may be, no matter how hot the fire may get, God is always there in it with us. He will always be there to help us through, even if it doesn't feel like it.

Jesus, seeing that everything had been completed so that the Scripture record might also be complete, then said, "I'm thirsty."

A jug of sour wine was standing by. Someone put a sponge soaked with the wine on a javelin and lifted it to his mouth. After he took the wine, Jesus said,

"It's done . . . complete."

Bowing his head, he offered up his spirit.

John 19:28-30 The Message

Joseph & Karen...

Love this beautiful gift you've shared with us. Joseph, as a writer, you can't believe how many times I've prayed the same prayer to God regarding my words. Some days, I feel as if the ink well has gone dry, and I begin to worry how it's all going to work itself out. In those times, I am reminded that God is the giver of my words, and as long as I am pressing into his heart every day, the words will come, if not then, then soon.

You have a gift. Don't worry about it leaving you. Just concern yourself with getting to know your Jesus more. You stand at the tip of the iceberg in terms of your creativity with your art. God has a special place he wants to take you to along these lines. Trust in him, not in your ability.

Blessed Easter weekend to you both!

Wow what a wonderful testimony and a beautiful drawing!!! Sometimes, we have to recognize that God just wants us to put our own thoughts away and just depend upon His within us. As we step out of the boat and trust, we find that we are walking on the water that seemed to keep us trapped before.

I love the drawing and what a beautiful testimony.
Thanks for sharing with us.

I also used the Message Bible for my posts. I do prefer NIV, sometimes liking the Message.

Wow, this blessed my heart. Both the picture and the testimony. My son can draw pictures too. He just doesn't think they are good. I know otherwise.

This picture shows talent.

Praise God for the cross.

Hugs friend.

I'm so blessed that you shared this with us Karen and Joseph, thank you for your encouragement, seeing God work through you and reminding me that He's always there in the fire, in the pain, even when I don't "feel" it.
