Do you like to do word associations? What about image associations?
What is the first image that comes to mind when you read the word dog?
Everyone identifies with different images when they hear certain words. That’s no surprise, since we are all unique individuals with different opinions, values and assumptions.
When you read the word hero, whose image projects in your mind?
Everyone needs a hero...or two...in their lives...a protector...a defender...
Today I give thanks for one of my heroes...my Daddy...
Thank you, Lord, for blessing me with this wonderful man that calls me daughter...
He always loves me...supports me...inspires me...and encourages me...
I am blessed...
Sadly, every dad is not a hero...
My friend Tiffany worded it well when she wrote:
'Fathers do make a difference. And when our earthly fathers fail, our Heavenly Father speaks up and shouts out "I love you and I am for you." '
So give honor to your heroes this weekend...and then give praise to the One who is our ultimate hero...

I love the pictures and especially the part about when our earthly fathers fail. This goes along with what I posted on my blog today for Thankful Thursday. Heart-lifting!
Beautifully put, as usual, Miss Karen! Praying a blessed Father's Day weekend for you and your loved ones!
Such a special post. Thank you!
My Father God is my hero and my mentor Dr. T. is my earthly adopted Dad. So grateful to both.
Blessings,
Tammy
Great words and pictures.
Our heavenly Father is! Is that your dog in the first picture? How adorable!
That is very sweet, Karen. It is wonderful that your Dad is your hero. The Lord is mine for sure.
Thanks for the reminder that on Father's Day we can also honor our heavenly Father.
Enjoyed your post...and the tribute to your dad.
I also re-read last years post about your Father-in-law and enjoyed all the pictures. (saw the link at the bottom of your post)
Thank you Mary. The Lord is all that comes to mind for my hero. Probably that is all that is needed. Blessings.
Beautiful, Karen. I'm thankful that my earthly father was godly man and that I had a happy, secure childhood. As you said, not everyone can say that, but we all have a Heavenly Father who loves us beyond all comprehension. We can't fathom the depths of His love for us.
Blessings,
Joan
