Riverbed - TSMSS

Many of the blog posts I’ve read this week have been about deserts...dryness...and parched souls...

The waters of the river will dry up,

and the riverbed will be parched and dry.

Isaiah 19:5 NIV

This song came to mind...

Riverbed

I am nothing on my own -

Just a bed of jagged stones

Created by a calloused bitter heart.

The rushing waters of Your grace,

Too boundless to contain

Smooth the roughness of my heart.

I am a riverbed,

Flow through me,

Let the waters of your Word,

Cleanse and set me free.

No stone unturned,

By the power of Your hand,

Lord, I am a riverbed,

In a dry and thirsty land.

The channel of Your love,

Runs as deep as it is wide,

To the ruined broken soul.

The richness of the water’s touch,

Fills the wounds and heals the scars,

The current mends my broken life.

I took care of you in the wilderness,

in that dry and thirsty land.

Hosea 13:5 NLT

So true, we are nothing on our own.
We don't even come to salvation on our own.
We love Him because He first loved us.

What a great song! Don't think I've ever heard it.

As I was reading the words, I thought about the pouring rain that soaked my city today. What refreshing that water can be!

Thanks for sharing. Hope your day is full and refreshing...

Karen..I could just picture the Living Waters quenching every dry and thirsty calloused crack in the hearts of mankind and bringing life and refreshment into each soul! Psalm 63:1 "O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water." Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

I so relate to the desert. Thank you for sharing this song. Beautiful words. Healing.

Hope you are enjoying summer. It's beautiful here. A bit warm this week, upper 80s. Thankful for seasons and our summer storms that make for cool nights with beautiful skies.

Thanks for your sweet comments. I appreciate your friendship.

Hugs,

Blessings Karen... Awesome song and perfect for all this "dryness" that I too have been noticing around Blog land... but the Living waters are so refreshing!

Beautiful words and song! Never heard it but I'm glad I have now... I am a riverbed...by the power of His hand, the rushing waters of His grace... so many beautiful parts. I love the verse you chose from Hosea and Isaiah!

Though I am still catching up and realize that this is not your most current post, I'm going back and finally commenting on the ones you shared that always bless me so much as you do each visit. With simple words or few or many, you are faithful to share from your heart & bless by encouraging others. May Our Lord bless you bountifully in return...and may your riverbed be rich, plentiful, flowing and rushing with His grace. He's aMazing!

...the current mends my broken life...(my favorite, though I really liked many) Such an appropriate choice for all the dry people, wounded & in need of healing...His healing touch brought to us by you & this song! Thanks, Karen...

(((hugs))) Peggy
