Jerusalem, you are sad
and discouraged,
tossed around in a storm.
But I, the LORD,
will rebuild your city
with precious stones;
for your foundation
I will use blue sapphires.

blue sapphires....sounds so pretty...Stay strong Karen....He doesn't turn things around...always. ☺
Great post, Karen!
What a gorgeous picture and verse! I love the theme of the jewels... speaking of the new Jerusalem, but symbolically pointing to the 'treasures' He is building into us.
Thanks for this Karen, hugs and blessings to you!
Hi Karen,
Thanks for sharing this scripture and image. It wasn't until I saw the image of the beautiful sapphires that I began to grasp the depth of what God was promising Israel; that He would lay their foundation much like a jeweler sets a precious stone, though with much greater care and concern.
This reminds me of Exodus 24:10, when Moses, Aaron and others saw the God of Israel and described the experience by saying this about God, "under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself." -- There were no clouds that hindered their view.
Now God reveals through Isaiah, that He will remove the obstacles from them by rebuilding their city. Our habitation is in Christ.
This is something to shout about!
Thanks for sharing Karen.
Blessings and peace.

Shared in such a way to make it easier to remember!!! Absolutely wonderful.
Ohhh yeah Karen! Blue sapphires, huh?
Watching as the Lord rebuilds and restores! How Isaiah knew so far into the future and the imagery of the foundation! A city rebuilt with precious stones... a soul restored by the truth of this foundation! God is so good!
Giving a shout! Rich treasures in this WFW! A sure foundation, laid with the love & care of God!
Thanks Karen...
Big (((hug)))

This is a beautiful picture to go with this promise from God, Karen. It is so often hard to see through the storms, but His promises never fail, and this illustration shows us just how much He cares, with blue sapphires, (that to me reveal his glory), for the foundation of the new Jerusalem. And the woenderful thing is, He does this for us.
Thank you for sharing this, Karen.
Blessings and love,
Laurie
