The Impenetrable Heart

He sees the child

His child...

The one He loves so much

His child is hurting...so He hurts, too...and waits for the words...

But the words do not come...

They are in the child’s heart, but the heart is barricaded within walls of stone...built with the rigidity of self-sufficiency...and the cry can not break through...

He places His hand on the chisel...

Gently and lovingly, He begins to tap on the side of the wall...

Slowly, a fissure forms...

Tenderly, His hand continues to carve as the rocks crumble...

And then, the unbreakable wall ruptures...

And the cleft of that once impenetrable heart, molds itself perfectly to cleave to the Rock of Ages...as the words tumble out...

HELP ME, GOD!

Even before they call,

I will answer;

while they are still speaking,

I will hear.

Isaiah 65:24 HCSB

Those words He longs to hear burst forth, even as His mighty hand grasps the weaker one...

and the child is safe...

and rests...

securely...

as pure love flows...

unobstructedly...

HEART TO HEART

Don’t be afraid,

for I am with you.

Don’t be discouraged,

for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you.

I will hold you up

with my victorious right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 NLT

Isaiah 41:10 is a verse I
lean on time and time again.
I'm so sorry for all you've
had to go through lately,
Karen. And a death in the
family is always so very
painful. I wish I could take
some of your pain. Know that
I am thinking of you and
praying for you.
Love,
Sandy

Oh Karen - tears are rolling down my face. This was so beautiful. Could I have your permission to copy this and place it in my faith notebook? I would like to have it to refer to - it was just so precious and encouraging. Especially since I know it came out of your heartache.

GOD BLESS!

Karen, this is absolutely beautiful!

I loved this part especially:

And the cleft of that once impenetrable heart, molds itself perfectly to cleave to the Rock of Ages...as the words tumble out...

God bless you Karen,

Wanted to stop by and was glad to see you back to blogging...but sorry to hear of news of a loss in your family. When I read this blog it meant so much to my heart. You have a way of putting into words some deep feelings that are very difficult for a lot of people to do....this is a special gift from the Lord. I clung to Isaiah 41:10 and Psalm 34:18 when my sister passed away suddenly. "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." That's a promise you can cling to, like a life-preserver! Sending hugs to you!! Will keep you in my prayers too.

Thank you so much for Isaiah 41:10. It was just what I needed. Things are difficult, painful and complex at home (not blogable)

We all have challenges that keep us clinging to the Lord. Thank you for the reminder of his love.

Blessings my dear Karen... another masterpiece of a heartfelt word! Hold on and reach that "child" and penetrate that heart with anointed words like these... this one hits too close to home! I read it with tears streaming the first time, and had to come back. And this time, I read it again and I heard the heart beat! May God truly help us and break through!
Isaiah 41...great words for peace in the storm!!! He is God! He hears! I know that you are calling out to Him for yourself and others.
Praying for you and your family as you requested. I love you and I pray that He strengthens you, comforts you and embraces your heart! Sending my arms and my heart to (((hug))) You.
Peace,
Peggy

How many times over the last 2 months have these 2 simple words been the uttermost cry of my heart.

Help me!

And our God is always faithful to so just what he promised to do. One thing I am learning through my cancer is that my Daddy longs to comfort me; why do I so often try and go it alone?

Love you, Karen. Have a blessed day in Jesus.
