When I Just Don’t Know...

I just don’t know what to do

When I depend on other people...they let me down...

When I focus on the circumstances...they seem hopeless...

When I listen to the world...they make no sense...

I don’t know what to do...

The doctor’s prognosis was not good at all...

The rent is due and the money just isn’t here...

My loved one is gone and there is a gaping hole that nothing can fill...

We do not know what to do,

but we look to You.

2 Chronicles 20:12 HCSB

When I look to You, I will see -

Hope

When my eyes stay focused, I will find -

Peace

When my heart listens to You, I will receive -

Healing

When I don’t know what to do, I will find

the Way, the Truth, and the Life...

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know "Thus saith the Lord"

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!

O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me
"Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

I'm so glad I learned to trust Him,
Precious Jesus, saviour, friend;
And I know that He is with me,
Will be with me to the end.

I LOVE that song. I may have to pull out the old hymnal, dust off the piano, and make it part of the homeschool curriculum this afternoon. Thanks for the reminder.

I keep reminding myself, when I've done all I know to do, stand. And wait upon Him, because He will never fail us.
Love the song, one of my favorites.

Sometimes it is good to realise you have nothing else in this life, but His hand, His love, His promises. I have come to that place and I am thankful for it.

Loved this post Karen and thank you for your encouragement and inspiration. Bless you sweet friend and sister...

Karen, this was beautiful. So very touching - and so vulnerable. Thank you for sharing your heart...

And for reminding us of the answer to all the disappointment, hopelessness, confusion, and fear in this world...

The Answer - Jesus.

"I know that He is with me, Will be with me TO THE END."

Praise the Lord...

I am strengthened by your words today, Karen. Jesus truly is my Hope, Peace and Healer. Our circumstances are as temporary as our lives are here on this earth, but He promises us eternity as we trust Him.

Blessings and love,
Laurie

Blessings Karen... Such precious little eyes of this child filled with HOPE, focused on PEACE, trusting to receive HEALING, with a heart that's LISTENING... words that minister to so many of His children and the perfect words of a song tried and true of "trusting in Jesus"... though I love the words to this song, I'm finding it difficult to say... oh 'tis so sweet to trust in Jesus...
Yes, it's sweet to know that we can
and that I'm learning to completely trust Him or lean on Him.

Sorry, it took me so long to get here... I'm sure I needed this blessing before you surprised me with the other! Ohhh how sweet the Jesus you shine for others and I pray that He is this to you and all God's children around you! Hope your special weekend was SUPER!

Love and peace,
Peggy

Karen, this is just beautiful. Sometimes I think it is only by traveling the rocky road, that the vistas along the way leave us changed altogether.

Karen, Thanks for commenting on my blog! This is such a beautiful song. Just the other day I was wishing some of my young friends could take these amazing words and put them to brand new music for another generation to lean and and learn from.
Thanx for posting this!

Hi Karen,

How often, I've found myself having similar thoughts, voicing words which beg for answers. This has been a year that I've cried out to the Lord; sometimes I could find but one word; "Jesus!"

Thank you for allowing me to feel words from your heart. It is so sweet to trust in Jesus...just to take Him at His word.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Blessings and peace.

You are right. People let us down...the world has no advice. The safest place to be is in God's Word or singing His songs. I love this song too. I had forgotten it for years, and one time when I was very low, it came on the radio/or CD and it brought tears to my eyes, and reminded me how simple things really are. Just trust in Jesus. Simply trust.
