In a hospital wing filled with waiting families and faithful friends,
this “John” sits...alone...loudly declaring His appointment by God to be a voice crying in the wilderness...of 21st century Rome, Georgia...
Sideways glances and feet shuffled are the responses...as thoughts run the gamut of “is he crazy” to “what is he going to do?”
Louder cries and voices change as threats ring out to all nearby...
The men in blue arrive...and escort the prophet outside while clenched muscles relax and quiet chatter resumes...as the battle for John’s mind and soul rages on...
Never put down your sword
*********************
He said His name was Jesus...the name above all names...In a small church filled with faithful saints and waiting sinners,
she sits in a pew...a battle raging...a decision to be made...
THE decision to be made...
Her heart beats louder with every second passed as the preacher urges ears to hear and feet to walk...so lips will confess as eternity gets closer and closer...
He said His name was Jesus...and with eyes closed she sees Him and knows that this Person...this Name...is the One she has been waiting to meet...
Down the aisle and at the foot of the cross, she places her heart on the wounds in His hands...and His heart’s blood washes her white...
Anyone can speak a name...
but not every name can speak
and
chains break
sickness heal
brokenness repair
sins erase
and death run...
The name of Jesus -
there’s not just something about that Name...
That Name is everything...
There is no way to be saved from the punishment of sin through anyone else. For there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we can be saved.
Because of this, God lifted Jesus high above everything else. He gave Him a name that is greater than any other name.

This is so touching...you have described His name so well.
I have carried that song and that Name in my heart through this long ordeal my family and I have been going through. I was just watching an online sermon last night from The River Church and the pastor was talking about that Name above all others that has the power to save, heal, deliver, and set free!!
Blessings~
This brings me to tears, Karen; His name touches my heart and brings tears and joy at the same time, and you have written this so beautifully. The name of Jesus, my Lord.
I continue to pray for your dear momma and for each of you at her side.
Blessings and love,
Laurie

Touched my heart sis, love you.
Beautiful, Karen - so moving. I feel so bad for that "John" - there are so many lost souls in this world. I pray for the ones that I'll never have a chance to meet - that one way or the other, they will hear the blessed name of Jesus.
His name - yes. There's just something about it...
GOD BLESS!
And His name is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and are safe.
How precious is His name. Beautifully written!
Karen very touching. Blessings.

I came here by way of Chatty Crone and all I can say is ...WOW! great post. There IS only one name!
So eloquently written Karen. The name of Jesus makes all the difference.
I love songs and scriptures about the name of Jesus - the most wonderful name I know!
Great post, Karen - as usual.
This is just beautiful! Jesus is the only One who can transform and make the difference in a life!
This post reminds me of the wonderful Savior we have...and his power to heal, forgive, give strength, to overcome, and in the challenges of our lives...He will win the final victory against satan.
Regarding "wandering". I have been going through the devotional "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young. In it, she felt Jesus tell her, "Pray about everything...then leave the outcome to me." I wanted to pass the reminder on to you in case it brought you some peace.
Those words really hit me...the simplicity of it...yet the impact of it. So I have been doing this...praying every day...then leaving the outcome to him (realizing I do not have control over outcomes.) That's God's area, and he wishes for us to have peace as we trust him for the outcome of our prayers. Just wanted to share this.
WOW this was AWESOME and POWERFUL!!!!
Loved it!
Many blessings to you sister!
