Twelve Thousand Days of True Love

We actually said I do on that very first date...

Shy girl and shy boy in a crowded room jammed full of people and we didn’t see any of them...

Heart all aflutter as the boy/man rescues a lost purse and captures my heart...

His dimples were so cute!!

Eight months pass with sweet stop sign kisses and plans for the future...

We say I do again, but this time before God and one of His men as our journey begins...

Top-1

We work

We play

We make memories

Time passes swiftly as our bond becomes stronger and love grows deeper...

I discover my guitar player is also a singer...and a songwriter...who composes melodies about EVERYTHING...

Our family tree grows 3 new branches...BOYS...so alike yet completely different and husband and wife also become mom and dad...

59

Blessings abound and joy overflows and it couldn’t possibly get any better...

The songs keep coming...

Seasons pass and our branches grow and lo and behold they are joined by beautiful new growth

and buds bloom and before you know it there are...

1 2 3 4 5

little Thompson grandflowers

Babies of our babies

And we glow in the journey of having daughters and being nanna and poppa and the

songs burst forth with no effort at all...

And after 35 years we still say I do...

To have...
as many more years together as the Lord allows

To hold...
as tightly as we can to the Rock that is secure

From this day forward...
until He comes or calls us home

For better...
which it is every single day

For worse...
which we overcome by trusting God and leaning on each other

For richer...
as our blessings are priceless and many

For poorer...
as the sacrifices were not made in vain...

In sickness and in health...
because that is what you do for someone you love and back rubs and M&M’s can sometimes cure what ails you...

Until death do us part...
so let’s go out with a song...

According to the figures,
we have been married for

12,785 days
1826 weeks
306,840 hours
18,410,400 minutes
or
1,104,624,000 seconds

and I am thankful for
every -
single -
second -
with you...

Happy Anniversary my love,

Never stop singing....

This was such a sweet post, Karen. I wish you both a happy anniversary and many more years of precious memories! Thanks for encouraging me too. This gives such hope to us younger couples out here who are going on 17+ years or more. :)

Blessings and Congratulations Rick and Karen!!! Really more than 12,000 days of true love and so beautifully shared and passed on... each moment, each minute, each word I second and ask Our Lord to multiply the wonder and the wonderful years and blessings with MORE LOVE and MORE of HIM! Love how you declared the vows... love how you so beautifully do tributes!

This is one that is well worth treasuring and watching the seasons, blossoms and branches producing the most precious fruit in words that only you could pen.

How did I miss this! So glad I remembered the day! Just one more year and one week I have minus 16.
How do I calculate or erase or count! Wish mine was more like yours! Yet love stories are rare just like you!

Hugs... and many more,
Peggy
ps...your dil of your oldest resembles you! How precious the photos and done in such good taste.
Love the image of the tree with roots in Him, branches and buds!
Awesome!

Happy 35th anniversary Ms Karen! It is a joy to still find couples together when divorce and annulment is very common. Despite the changing times, your love for each other has grown and has become more profound.

Wishing you many more blessed years together as you continue to inspire those around you ♡
