Is Your Head Covered?

There are three types of pillow people. Those who like to sleep with one pillow, those who like to sleep with several pillows, and those that could care less about pillow propaganda.

At the end of a long day, I love to sink down into several soft, fluffy pillows and wait on the sandman to make his rounds. Lately I have been sharing those pillows with a little 9 pound ball of softness.

Yes, I am one of those people that let the dog sleep in their bed.

She is clean and soft and my DH loves her there, too. One thing about Little Miss Muffy is that most of the time she ends up sleeping on top of my head.

Okay...I didn't know quite what to think of that at first. The house cat always commandeered the foot of the bed so I suppose I was thinking Muffin would join him down there.

Nope, didn't happen...Buddy was not into communal bed quarters so he sleeps in the recliner. Muffin took over the bed and rotates that silky, warm, little body between my head, back, and feet.

She provides comfort, protection (she may be small, but her bark is big dog tough), and most importantly...unconditional love.

Last night in bed, as I laid my hand on her little side and considered the love and peacefulness of this tiny creature, I thought about the wondrous and mighty love of God.

Encircled in His loving arms, this daughter finds so much peace and contentment that my mind cannot even fathom the greatness of it all. Whether I am going about my daily life or resting during the night, I know that my God covers me with His unconditional and everlasting love.

O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.

Psalm 104:7 NASB

For the LORD will go before you,
and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

Isaiah 52:12 NASB

The Lord does not have to rotate between different positions but shelters every part simultaneously.

If I let Him...

He leads me on the path I need to take,

If I ask Him...

He follows as my rear guard,

If I accept Him...

He walks beside me as I go,

If I acknowledge him...

He saturates me with His Holy Spirit

If I yield to Him...

So

I am never alone.

In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Proverbs 3:6 AMP

Just as it is my choice to allow that little girl to sleep beside me or not, it is my choice to let Jesus be Lord of my life.

Your love is a treasure, and everyone finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 36:7 CEV
