“HELP!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!! SAVE ME, PLEASE!!”, the young ram cried out, but the only response he heard was the growls of the hungry predators perched on the ledge of the pit...seeking to devour him....
He cried out again, but weaker than before, “Mama, I’m sorry I didn’t listen to you...I never wanted to hurt you...I just wasn’t thinking straight...”
And then...
“Oh, Shepherd...if only You could hear me...I’ve been so disobedient...now I know that everything You taught me was for my own good, and that You did everything out of love for me...but I just ignored You and went the other way...I NEED you, Shepherd!”
The young ram’s breathing grew shallow as he gave in to grief and despair...just waiting for the wolves to get up the nerve to jump in and take him.
“I am so sorry for what I have done, Shepherd. Please take care of my family for me...I love them so much.”
As the young ram closed his eyes and waited for death to come, a quietness spread through the forest.
The wolves whimpered and crept back...
The owls and crickets hushed their calls...
The trees and bushes stilled their swaying...
For the LIGHT was coming...
Was coming through the darkness...
The Marvelous Light...
The Glorious Light...
Gentle hands reached down into the pit and lifted the young ram...warmth flowed through his body as the healing came...but the Light was so bright, he could not even open his eyes...still...he just knew...his Saviour had come...
As the hands slowly placed the young ram on his feet, joy and peace like he had never known coursed through his veins...leaping forward into the Light, he felt the Shepherd’s rod against His side...
And he knew...
As he danced and sang...
He was going HOME....
The Lord is my shepherd;I have all that I need.
Psalm 23:1 NLT
Into marvelous light I'm running,
Out of darkness, out of shame.
By the cross you are the truth,
You are the life, you are the way.
My dead heart now is beating,
My deepest stains now clean.
Your breath fills up my lungs.
Now I'm free. now I'm free!
Lift my hands and spin around,
See the light that i have found.
Oh the marvelous light...
Marvelous light....

Blessings Karen...I did not want to read the conclusion until I read the sequence but I can tell I want to read it from the start! Key words jump out at me! I wonder why???
I don't currently have time but will be back because it's intriguing and for some reason I think this might have come from you through your 7 day set apart or it's been in the works & related to us through this imagery with the SHEPHERD!
My reason for comment without reading is: WILL THIS BE A BOOK BY YOU?
just curious...love & hugs, Peggy
Blessings and prayers, andrea
A wonderful precious, story, Karen ~ Thank God for our Shepherd, Savior, and His healing presence.
I enjoyed the story and the pictures were beautiful.
What a loving Shepherd we have who is so patient with us.
Karen... I loved this story and what a true picture of my life. I too wandered away and fell into a deep pit but my Savior came and saved me! Thank you for the imagery. Love you...
Karen, This story is so good! I loved it. It reminds me of my teenagers; as I attempt to raise them and guide them in the direction of safety and security and their desire to stray away out on their own, thinking I am only trying to make up rules to make their life not any fun. I think that I just might have them read this. :)
