Simple Joys – So Many Books

simple joys

with Jan

@ Simple Joys in our Life

Books are one of my very best friends...a true BFF...

My mother says that the very first time she took me to the town library was when I was in first grade. The summer reading program had begun and I selected a stack of books to bring home.

By the time we had gone the 10 miles back home, the books had all been read...

That joy of reading continues to this day...

My reading time is more limited now, so I am very selective in which books I choose...but there is ALWAYS at least one in my reading corner and several in queue...and I treasure those moments of reading pleasure...

A post on a Tammi’s blog this morning brought to mind of how our lives are like a book...

bookccc

We have so many pages to live through

before we reach the final chapter.

If we try to hurry along and skip some chapters...we lose very important things to help us on our journey...times of love...moments of victory...lessons in defeat...even seasons of sorrow are needed...

God penned the pages of our life book...

He planned each chapter...

Dotted all the “i’s” and crossed all the “t’s”...

We don’t know when the last chapter will be read...

If you aren’t certain how your book will end, please talk to the Author and Finisher of our faith...

You will be assured of an amazing last page!

It's so wonderful to know our
life story has been penned by
our dear Lord. And we need not
worry about anything to come
because all His plans for us
are good! Greatly encouraging
word again, Karen!
Hugs,
Sandy

Mmmmm!! Wow! Praise God...powerful post...I love that...go to the 'Author and Finisher' of our faith!!! I love that He finishes each of our stories; will we allow the last chapter of HIS story be revealed in our lives? Thank you for this Karen!
Mwah!

Blessings Karen...another beautifully penned SIMPLE JOY!!! A sweet new tidbit learned about you and "being a book by God" is just like my WFW that we are Christ's letter. I simply LOVE this and I will linger in the encouragement this is for me today!

[Though perhaps it should be...this is one book that I will not skip ahead to the ending yet to read how it turns out because I have faith in the Author & Finisher!]
TWO GREAT CHAPTERS FROM YOU TODAY ...ahhh...the JOY of internet connection and blessings...thanks Karen!!!

Karen - your posts always give me much to ponder and reflect. As Christians, we have the Master Author writing the chapters of our lives.

AMEN! A wonderful post. In the heat of the summer and on rainy days, I love to read. I miss reading aloud to mama - I did for so many years and she loved books but could not see to read.

I wish you a sweet, blessed weekend Karen.

Something else came to mind as I read this - All of our journey's and family history's are important to God. He chronicles are faith journey in His book, and not one dot will failed to get dotted. He loves every step in the journey!

Beautifully written Karen and great point about not skipping through the pages of our lives. So many I'd like to flip right on pass.

Your writing just flows so beautifully, Karen..... such a joy to read.
And you always see such a precious analogy.....
I love books too, but I was inclined to read until I finished... even if it was 3am, so I had to be more disciplined.
With love and blessings,
Jan

God has given you the gift of writing, Karen, and I so agree with what you have said here today. He is indeed, the Author and Finisher, and i am sure He has written my story with far more grace than I would!

Love this imagery. I too love books and call them friends. I know the last page is the best, it's the ending that never ends. And it's finally the happily ever after. Oh what a day when we finally meet our author face to face...

So loved this post. I've written in my journal about books similar to this post here. Loved reading your perspective.

Have a blessed weekend. And enjoy those BFFs.

Boy, this chapter in my life is a doozy. It may put others to sleep, but it's keeping me awake and will be, in the end, perhaps a defining moment in my story...

All good stories have a defining moment, a turning point. I think this is mine... at least for this season.
