Love from the center of who you are;

don't fake it.

Run for dear life from evil;

hold on for dear life to good.

Be good friends who love deeply;

practice playing second fiddle.

Romans 12:9-10 The Message

Blessings Karen... Awesome how The Message shares this and you, with the fiddle accentuated!

Love cannot be hypocritical, it really needs to be sincere and too many fake love. The image of being or practicing second fiddle... definitely tells ya' to love others above yourself.

Put other's interests above mine. God shows me daily how to put others before me(at home it's a different story, but part of the reason I'm here, many might think that I'm putting myself and my way first, yet it's been turned around)
What matters is Jesus first, than Others than Yourself. JOY and holding on to GOOD! Beautiful & inspiring. Thanks, my friend! Deep to deeper... love & hugs, have a wonderful WORD filled day,
Peggy

Perhaps I'm showing my age, Karen, but I just haven't been able to take to The Message Bible when I've come across it before. It certainly speaks in language that doesn't pull any punches! Great verse.

Ouch......I like it.
And I am sure I need it.

When I used to sing in musicals I would only sing a lead role as I thought it was too much work to be in the chorus. What a brat I was and fortunately I never not got a role....or maybe that was unfortunately........LOL rueful one.

Wow, I've NEVER heard this translated in the Message and it just may be one of my new favorites...in a world where we are told to "look out for # 1" this verse clearly speaks the opposite...

Karen, I LOVE this!! Thank you for sharing this!! AWESOMENESS!

peace,
lori

Don't fake it...I find myself doing that sometimes. I wish I could be bolder and just say how I'm feeling, which is sometimes like an empty shell. God knows what we need, though. May He fill us all to overflowing and beyond!
