The 7th Day of Christmas – I’m Dreaming of a Bah Humbug

with Carrie @ Thoughts, Ponderings, Musings

I can identify with Scrooge...

There have been some “Bah Humbug” times in my life...moments I turned away with ears deaf and eyes blind...grace and mercy...available to all...gifts of redemption...

December always includes my two favorite holiday movies...

Can you tell I enjoy musicals?

Rosemary Clooney’s beautiful alto voice gives me hope in the sea of sopranos...and the closing number always makes me sigh at the difference in southern and northern winters...

When my boys were young, we watched some of the classic children’s Christmas movies...but they always knew that mom had to watch a few grownup movies of her own...

The classic “Sisters” song in White Christmas would always draw them into the living room where they giggled and mimicked Bing and Danny...and as they grew older, they would watch Scrooge with me...until they tired of the musical scores and went on to Nintendo and such...

Which Christmas movies do you try not to miss each year?

I'm with you, Karen; I love White Christmas, too, but I haven't seen Scrooge for years. Hmmm, I can't get the "sisters" song out of my head now!

I rarely miss seeing "It's A Wonderful Life" and I have fond memories of several lines in this movie, one of them being "Zuzu's petals! Zuzu's petals!" My family groans every year when I bring it up to watch! I am also fond of "Miracle on 34th Street" and I will be sure to watch "The Nativity Story". I have a stash of others that may get viewed also, usually with a cup of tea or hot chocolate!

Blessings,
Laurie

Enjoy your movies! Don't have any must see movies - whatever is on TCM if we're not with family.

:0)"IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE!"

Blessings Karen! And I love yours also... actually any Christmas delight: from the Nativity Story to Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. But I'm with you on these two wonderful ones. Funny how you combined the two title songs.

Bah humbug! I have not seen any for over 15 years except the video I brought with me from our church on a remake of "It's a Wonderful Life" with yours truly as Ma Bailey.

Happy 7th day...I have a lot to catch up on now with you... and others!!! I guess many have alright gotten their White Christmas! Not me... I won't see that here!!!lol

Christ's Peace and love as you cuddle and grab a cocoa and a movie... or maybe just popcorn and pop since you're in the south! No fireside times, eh?

OK, my husband and I are fans of "Christmas Vacation" - it's just fun to have a good laugh at this hectic time of year!! And I am also a HUGE fan of the Charlie Brown Christmas special. There have been years when we specifically went out to "adopt" a sad little tree to give him a home! Special memories!

(BTW - really like your new profile photo! How did you lose 10 years??? :)

GOD BLESS!

Those are great movies and I should rewatch those this Christmas. I don't really have must see Christmas movies.

Hi friend,

I enjoyed this message...made me smile. I'm a Turner Classic Movie girl BUT I love watching the Ten Commandments for Christmas and about 12 other times during the year (BIG SMILE). Do you know as a child I thought that Charlton Heston was REALLY Moses? I was so disappointed when I found out he was an actor (hahaha).

Love you and enjoy your classics.
