How To Make Yourself at Home

Where is home?  Home is where the heart
can laugh without shyness. Home is where
the heart's tears can dry at their own pace.

“I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you keep my commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love."

I have loved you just as my Father has loved you. So let me love you always.

I have loved you just as the Father has loved Me; remain in My love[and do not doubt My love for you].

I have loved you, just as my Father has loved me. So remain faithful to my love for you.

As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

When pain comes, home offers healing.
When fear overtakes, home is the safe place.
When despair consumes, home brings hope.
When life overwhelms, home is peace.

Home is not..
between walls
at an address
or a temporary shelter.

Home is..
where your heart is held
by the One who is love in the flesh -
who welcomes all with arms stretched wide -
mercy saturated and grace multiplied

The door is ALWAYS open
Make your self at home
in Jesus'
LOVE

I love to write about Home and you have captured the true essence of home. I loved this line especially: "the One who is love in the flesh - who welcomes all with arms stretched wide - mercy saturated and grace multiplied.

Mercy saturated and grace multiplied - how I need it!

So beautiful, these different versions of that passage you quoted. I have just recently returned from an overseas trip... and it really is good to be reading your posts again. Be blessed today, dear friend. Love, Lidia

These are great ways to describe home....and the love of Jesus. No place like home, literally

Oh Karen ... thank you. I so needed to make myself at "home" in Jesus and His Love because as you know my home is not at all like any of the beautiful descriptions and I long for our eternal home. You'd think after returning, I'd find it as different as I'd hoped but though new it's not home nor how I'd hope so I cling to the words you've shared so well and change my perspective to this with a new hope for what lies ahead. Although my walled "home" is not at all like this home... because it does not offer healing, hope, peace or any sense of a safe place as thankfully I find in our Father's home. I have never felt so sad or insecure, yet at the same time, know what you wrote to be true and long for this more and more. I pray it won't be long. Meanwhile, I seek refuge in His Home of Love for me and these words to soothe my disillusion and even that for my dear Tracy... words of life! Like your dear dad ... Love it! What an encouraging blessing from your earthly dad of your heavenly One! I'm so glad that you have him {seeing his words blessed me also} ... Praying that this earthly home begins to change rather than be the enemy's territory for so much discord and heartache. Filled with gratitude that I can escape in your words and books (some music and videos) and God's Word!

and this one... somehow I missed this post as well. It must have been published at a time I wasn't very much in the blog neighborhood... and so I didn't get to read it at once. But lately, one of my posts has been on the words of Jesus in the John 15 discourse, where Jesus says "Remain in My love." And our Bible teacher said that it literally means, "to continue to be in the position of being delighted in His love." Wow, and now I read these words, "Make yourself at home in my love." So timely indeed. Am always so glad to be connected to you through your blog. Makes me feel so happy getting to know you a bit more.
