I’d Tell the World - TSMSS

This week's selection of a song in memory of my Granddaddy is "I'd Tell the World." This song has been around since the late 1950's and has an inspiring message. Granddaddy began his walk with the Lord on April 15th, 1932. During the next 76 years, he never hesitated to tell someone about Jesus. Family, friend, or stranger...no matter the topic of conversation...Granddaddy could always relate the subject to something about the Lord. It's not surprising that he was a great preacher.

I could not find any audio of this song to upload, so please just reflect on the words as an encouragement to share your faith with others.

I'd Tell the World

Words and Music By: C.S. Grogan

If I could count my blessings and name them one by one,

I'd write a book so everyone could read;

I'd start each line with "Glory," and end with "Praise the Lord,"

I'd tell how Jesus fills my every need.

I'm thru with sinful pleasures, I've left them all behind,

They only give contentment for a while;

I gave them up for Jesus; He means so much to me,

While ages roll, His love will still abide.

If I could speak like angels, and have a million years

On earth to talk about my Saviour's love,

When time for me had ended, and Jesus called me home,

I'd still have much to tell in heaven above.

Refrain:

I'd tell the world how Jesus saved me, saved my soul,

I'd tell the world He set me free and made me whole;

Oh yes, if I could count my blessings and name them one by one,

I'd tell the world what Jesus is to me.

On Sunday, there will also be a God STOP moment about this song so please visit Carrie at Thoughts, Ponderings, and Musings.

The 'older' the saint, the simpler our faith where all the 'unnecessaries' are stripped to what ultimately matters..."our Jesus saves.."
Praise Him that you had a godly Grandpa...

Great words, Karen ~ This is what we are supposed to be doing, spreading the good news.

Oh, Karen, I was raised up with this song. I attended a little church in Atlanta that sang it quite a bit. I remember as a little girl that I used to love the chorus. The people sang it like they really meant it. Thank you for reminding me of it. Your grandfather was a wonderful Christian. Sharing Jesus with others is what it's all about. I hope you have a blessed weekend.

I love the words to this great song.
Wouldn't it be great if we were so eager to to tell the world how Jesus saved me ....and how HE has blessed us.
I am being honest. I tend to hold back sometimes...which is wrong and something I need to work on.
Thanks for the encouragement!
