In exactly five days, my wanderer will take a giant step in what I hope is the beginning of his journey back to the Lord. This has been on my mind a great deal and even more so as the days count down. I am holding on to the promise the Lord gave me last November about my son. My prayers have been for him to realize that once he starts back, his Heavenly Father will come meet him with open arms. He still has many trials and troublesome circumstances to deal with, but he has the choice of trying to handle them on his own, or turning them over to God and trusting Him to have control.
Unlike earthly "friends",
GOD
is always there
never leaves
always hears
never forsakes
always forgives
never holds a grudge
always loves
and never fails
IF we allow Him to and don't turn away...
I love this song because it talks about some of these very things. Please listen to the words and whisper a short prayer for my prodigal that he will understand and accept these wonderful truths.
Why are you striving these days
Why are you trying to earn grace
Why are you crying
Let me lift up your face
Just don't turn away
Why are you looking for love
Why are you still searching as if I'm not enough
To where will you go child
Tell me where will you run
To where will you run
And I'll be by your side
Wherever you fall
In the dead of night
Whenever you call
And please don't fight
These hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you
Look at these hands and my side
They swallowed the grave on that night
When I drank the world's sin
So I could carry you in
And give you life
I want to give you life
Cause I, I love you
I want you to know
That I, I love you
I'll never let you go

I've been hearing this song on the radio a lot lately and it really speaks to me.
I love this song. It is so wonderful where he says:
"Why are you trying to earn grace"?
Good reminder for me.
Looks like your faith is right where it needs to be for this moment in your life, keep it there and keep it strong.
Have a great week!
I love this song. Thanks for sharing. Praying for your son.
I love you, Karen. I will catch up on your blog today. I will try to read as many posts as I can. hehehe!
Hallelujah Anyhow!!!
I committed to read as much posts as I can today.
This is beautiful. I LOVE everything you said! I will be praying for your son. You have stated the TRUTH and I definitely agree. GOD is the best and perfect FRIEND for us. HE has been to me again today. Amazing.
I know how your heart longs for your son to fully KNOW Jesus.I'm always asking God "Why is it taking so long for my son?"
He whispers... "Remember how long it took you?"
I'm praying your son.
love and hugs~Tammy
Karen, Thanks for sharing this song. It is awesome!! I did not know about your prodigal. I am sure it has been heartbreaking, at times. I pray for your son and that he will know Jesus's opened arms.
I also wanted to thank you for all the encouragement, sweet words in your comments and prayers that you have been lifting up, on my behalf. I have been overwhelmed by all the love and support from my Christian sisters online.
Thank you, again. Your words have meant so much!
Praying for our sons ~
Hi Karen,
One of my childhood friends that I met with just this week is praying for her prodigal as well. I'm going to send her a link to this.
Great song and prayer in the link to your earlier post. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Sita
We are praying also.
Thanks for sharing that song.... Praying for your son...... I have a 39 year old son that needs to commit his life to the Lord..... The Father knows...... HIS arms are open...
I hardly know your prodigal, but I do love Corey like a brother, so that makes HIS brother a brother to Andy and I. We hurt for him, and for you - but know that in all things God is calling to him, and waiting for him and LOVING him.
Prayer is sent his way often.
Karen, thank you for your kind comments on my blog. I will be praying for your son. There are no words sufficient to describe the way a mother's heart beats for her children. I have lived it, too.
Beautiful song. Let us rest in His grace. It is all and always sufficent. Trust in Him.
Love in Christ Jesus,
Andrea
